Clean Drinking Water Situation in Thailand
Thailand is a country with many rivers and a rainy season every year, so most people assume it couldn’t possibly face water shortages. But in 2014, there were still about 2.1 million people in Thailand without access to clean drinking water, mostly in rural areas where clean water sources don’t reach. Over the years, many organizations have worked together to develop and supply water sources for these communities, which has helped reduce the number of people lacking clean water. However, by 2019, there were still about 350,000 people in need. Additionally, clean water systems require ongoing funds for maintenance and upgrades.
This number does not include water shortages during crises or in the context of global warming, which causes irregular rainfall patterns and extremes like floods, droughts, and more.

We aim to help communities lacking access to water, starting in Thailand and neighboring countries. We’ve been contacted by many communities in various provinces across the country seeking help.
